Four of Wands

The four of wands is, to me, a pretty straight forward card, depicting celebration and other positive life experiences. Of course the variety of the celebration depends on what part of the card you feel pulled to in a specific reading, especially if you’re reading intuitively, and in relation to what other cards are pulled. Let’s take a look and dive right in!

The first thing we see is the canopy in the foreground made of four posts with garlands of flowering and fruit bearing plants. This very much resembles a chuppah which is a traditional fixture at a Jewish wedding and symbolizing the building of a home together. Beyond that, we see a couple dressed in togas and holding hands, bouquets of flowers raised above their head in celebration. Behind them is a gathering of people, and a large castle with a grand bridge. The sky is clear and the color hello could signify the sun is shining bright on this day. You cannot help but to get happy or excited looking at this picture, with so much abundance and joy being represented across the face of the card.

This card signifies celebration, love, success, and joyous union, as well as continued success further down the road. This card can represent a significant step in a current relationship, such as marriage/engagement/commitment. It can also be a sign of a source or reason for celebration with friends and loved ones. I mean come on, what do you think of when you see a toga?! Time to party, and with the whole gang! This card has a very communal feel to it, which also supports the idea that a relationship could be getting more intense or growing and everyone will know about it… the flowers and fruit that are all over the card are a sign of fruitfulness, abundance, fertility, and all that comes with such energies. Additionally, with the wands representing passion and fire, we see that couple is not only deeply committed to one another, but their relationship is sexy, and passionate. It’s truly a win win. The bridge in the back is another important piece to consider as it represents this abundance and fertility will be continuing into the future.

This is maybe one of my favorite wand cards because it is the only one, in my opinion that signifies a passionate steamy affair that turns into a serious commitment. This level of abundance and fertility will fill your life for years to come and you will be celebrating with those closest to you and each other! You will build a beautiful life together and it will endure and bring blessings for many years to come.
