Three of Wands
The three of wands can be a little frustrating to see come up in a reading but its a good kind of frustrating. Looking at the card, there are many different clues as to what is underlying the physical image we see.
This is a picture of a man standing on top of a hill or mountain, looking far out to the sea beyond him. He holds three wands with him, and is cloaked in checkered sash, red and yellow cloak, with a bit of armor poking out from underneath the robe. On the water we see three ships sailing out into the vast sea, not a cloud in the sky. The terrain beyond the sea is mountainous but not so much so that it looks impassible.
This man has gained success/power/wealth/acknowledgement in the material world as symbolized by the red robe, the yellow signifying a level of trust in spirit, and the checker sash representing the gift of strategy and logic. He is possibly a merchant taking one last look at his ships as they sail out of his sight and onto their route. He has done everything he can to assure their safe passage and his success, so now he must wait. He must put his trust in his crew and in spirit, because he cannot do anything more at this point. He has no cell phone or computer, or anyway to reach the crew so he must wait to see what the outcome will be, knowing he has played his cards right, as long as he held them.
In a reading this card is a sign that you are at a place where all you can do is wait patiently for the final outcome. You e prepared the best you can, you’ve got a team you trust, you hope the universe will keep your ships safe and bless them. This may be frustrating but you feel confident knowing you have absolutely played your cards right to the best of your ability and after a time of waiting you will reap the rewards. The path shouldn’t be too difficult to get there, as the scenery portrays, the hardest part will be the waiting. It is also a potent sign of waiting and trusting spirit to secure the outcome you desire, knowing you’ve put in the work, and in doing so, showed the universe exactly what you want.
