Knight of Wands
It’s a stud on a stud! The knight of wands is definitely a charismatic adventurer eager to draw attention to himself and make sure you cannot miss his entrance. But is that all he is or does he represent more?
There is a lot going on in this card that helps us understand who this knight is and what he desires and what his purpose or focus is. First we have the pyramids of Giza in the background, just like in the page of wands card. That feels to me like it’s indicative of perhaps the page in another stage of his journey, like he has that confidence now that he was missing before and now that he has even more confidence his enthusiasm and charisma is through the roof. The sky is blue and clear indicating a general positive setting for his journey. His horse is russet colored and rearing up on his hind legs as if he is ready to mount a mare, ready for a confrontation, or over stimulated about something. There are two places in this card where we see green leaves, on the reins and on the wand, representing the springing up or budding of new energy and growth. The knight himself has so much going on too, including a cape and helmet feather that literally look like fire. His tunic is decorated with salamanders, like the page and the king of wands tunics, which are the fire elemental and represent adaptability and a resilient nature as they are animals that can live on land or water.
When we take all of this symbolism in, it is clear that the knight of wands is a go getter, and not only is he a go getter but he is confident, charismatic, passionate, and virile. This person wants to seduce you, either into bed, into a new adventure, or an exciting project, and chances are you will have a hard time turning them down! He loves new projects and he is the one to build up your self confidence with his smooth talking. He’s the guy who can convince you any idea is a good idea and to seize the day because there’s no point in not giving it a shot. A team leader and a super fun date!
When this card shows up in a reading, it can be interpreted as someone outside of you, or an energy your bringing to something. Perhaps there is a new lover coming in, albeit a short lived one. Ultimately, depending on the position of the card, the knight of wands in a reading says that passionate energy is around you and it is giving you what you need to move into a relationship/affair, job, or project with confidence, exuberance and a willingness to succeed regardless of any perceived faults or roadblocks. He says enjoy the moment while you’re in it! Be present to the sheer joy of the experience, regardless of the mmmm it’s nature.
