Page of Wands
The page of wands is the first of the wands court cards, like all pages are. Also, he has some similarities to the other page cards, but he definitely has qualities of his own that aren’t replicated anywhere else in the tarot.
We see a young man, standing in the desert, dressed in a somewhat elaborate tunic that’s is decorated with salamanders. On his head of bright red hair, he wears a heat with a small red feather that shoots straight up tot he sky like a flame. He has a wand in his hands and he seems to be quite intrigued by it, as he stares up at it with a look of wonder on his face. Behind him are the pyramids of Giza, a place on this planet of great power and transformative energy. The sky is blue and clear and he seems as if he is about to start upon a journey, ready to move into what’s ahead of him, with an open mind and a grateful heart.
Several of the symbols are indicative of the fire element and the energy of the fire signs and/or element of fire is one of passion and transformation. The salamander represents fire and the elemental associated with it, while the red feather in his cap represents a flame of passion, burning up to the heavens. The pyramids are a representation of transformation and the element of fire does nothing if not transform everything in its path.
The page of wands represents an exciting new venture, and he is a passionate novice who can make up for what he lacks in experience with exuberance. The pyramids in the back show us that he is an explorer, willing to take the risks needed to venture into new territory. And not only is he willing to take the risks, he cannot wait to take the risks! His exuberance is as boundless as the night, and his curiosity may never be satisfied. He is also an excellent cheerleader, or sidekick and will always have enough positive energy to go around.
When this card is pulled in a reading it often signifies that a new energy is coming into your life, and that it is best for you to become as positive and upbeat about it as possible. It’s a reminder that we need to approach life with wonder and excitement, and experience it enthusiastically, no matter what is in front of us. Be as amazed and excited about this new energy as he is about his wand! The adventure ahead will be better than you imagine, especially if you allow the momentum of it to sustain you.
