Queen of Wands

The queen of wands might be my favorite queen, in the court cards. It has been so amazing journeying with the energy of this card the last several days, that I don’t even want to move on to the next but alas I know I must. So let’s take a look at this passionate Diva and see what makes her so alluring.

At the very forefront of the card sits a black cat, seemingly guarding her throne, which sits on a platform. She is dressed in a goldenrod gown, shining bright like the sun, with a white cape upon her back and a crown atop her golden hair. In her left hand she holds a sunflower and in her right a wand with fresh buds blooming near the top. Her throne is set upon lions, one under each armrest, and there are lions and sunflowers embroidered into its fabric. In the background we see the pyramids of Giza to the right, mountains to the left, all set against a bright blue sky. The queen sits with her legs spread apart, the only queen in the court cards to do so.

This queen is empowered and passionate in her actions, charismatic in all she does, a world traveler who can easily flow in any group she encounters. She has made peace with her emotions, both negative and positive, and is courageous in expressing them without judgment. This queen shines like the sunflower she holds, open and bright, she faces her life with optimism and excitement for whatever adventure comes her way. The queen of wands is sexually awake and present to her carnal desires, unashamed by them, rather she embraces them and expresses them with ease. We know she is psychically protected by the appearance of the black cat in front of her, while all the lions on the throne reflect how regal and royal she is.

When receiving this card in a reading, it is possible this person is you or that this person could be in your life or coming into your life, depending on the position of the card. It may also represent a general energy, one that engenders the aforementioned qualities and characteristics of this queen. It is often a sign that positive growth is being made or coming, as well as a sign of sexuality being embraced. And that black cat pops out everytime I pull it, so the cat is always there to let you know you’re being protected while you sink into the experience that is the queen of wands
