Page of Disks

Image
The page of pentacles is a card I love to pull in a reading. While the pentacles or disks tend to be a bit more slow moving than say the wand cards, we see this page as setting a solid foundation for future materializations.  In this card, we see a hound man standing on a plot of land and holding up a single disk, staring at it with reverence. This card indicates someone at the beginning of their journey, someone who is willing to commit to putting in the work to grow their investment and who knows they will see their investment provide for them. The red hat indicates this page has a love of sensual pleasures and knows exactly how he will be enjoying the fruits of his labor once they have matured. The brown and green of his clothing tell us he is grounded and practical and will not seek the return on his investment until it has more than matured, ensuring it is long lasting and fruitful. The bare plot of farm land in the background is the pages investment and it shows that while he...

Ten of Disks

Image
The ten of disks is a beautiful card, and the end of the pentacle suit, signalizing a completion. That isn’t the only thing this card means, though and it is truly a card unto itself. Let’s take a look…   The 10 of pentacles has a massive amount of symbolism strewn throughout it, some more obvious and others quite hidden. Let’s start with the fact that it is the only card to contain several generations of a family! With the pentacles being all about material wealth, we can discern that the wealth we see here is long lasting, has a solid foundation, and is here to stay. This is inter generational wealth, it is grounded in reality and reminds us that financial wealth isn’t the only way we experience material abundance on the earth. The patriarch of the family is sitting in a cloak covered in depictions of fruit on the vine and magic sigils for prosperity. It’s almost as if he has done his magic on the material plane to ensure his family is taken care of well after he is gone. The gra...

Nine of Disks

Image
The nine of disks or pentacles is one of my favorite suit cards, besides the nine of cups. Though unlike the nine of cups, one can get a very clear idea of what this card means simply by looking at its details and the picture of abundance it creates. We see a woman in beautifully extravagant flowing robes, and a custom fitted hat, standing in a garden overflowing with an abundance of disks and crops, holding a falcon. Her had is covered in a thick leather glove, and the falcon has blinders on, indicating this woman has trained the falcon. The amount of time and commitment that takes is commendable and ultimately well worth it as that falcon will do the work of keeping her garden pest free so she doesn’t have to. The falcon may even act as a messenger bird, preventing her from having to take long journeys, to get a message to someone, that would ultimately take time away from her work. As we can see, her commitment to her work, or tending her garden, has resulted in an unparalleled leve...

Eight of Disks

Image
The eight of disks is a card that I have learned to love. It is another card from which one can infer the message quite easily just by looking at it.   We see a craftsperson sitting at their workbench, and crafting pentacles using tools of their trade. This person is outside of the city limits, alone and focused on the task at hand. Displayed in front of them are all the pentacles theyve completed, with one in progress, and one underneath the bench towards the back, presumably one that didn’t turn out as desired. He is dressed in red tights signifying material connection, while his tunic is blue signifying intuitive/spiritual connection. He has found a spiritual connection in his material work, and his dedication to his craft has filled his life with riches beyond his imagination. After all, the person making the tokens will keep a fair percentage indeed.  This card is about the joy of committing to one’s craft with passion and a deep desire to traverse through whatever diffic...

Seven of Disks

Image
The seven of pentacles takes us further on our journey through physical prosperity and the understanding of our relationship to it. With this card following the six of disks, there is a shift that has happened for us.    Here we see a man dressed in an orange tunic with light blue underclothing. The orange represents the creative energy inherent in the second chakra or svadhisthana, while the light blue represents spiritual/intuitive connection. He is standing over a lush and overgrown bush that is sporting an abundance of disks. Clearly he has created this abundant outcome, as a result of his carefully laid plans and action taken to ensure a successful crop/job. He is gazing at it, enjoying the fruit of his labor, while also gazing in wonder at the way something as small as seeds, when tended to, can produce so much abundance. Among the plants are tendrils, signifying the plant and the fruit have assisted each other through a dense support system.  This card can let us k...

Six of Disks

Image
The six of disks is a beautiful card that’s meaning goes a bit deeper than the picture shows. It can be particularly  meaningful coming after the 5 of disks.  Here we see three people, two asking for a donation and one giving the donation. Above them are six disks, and the background seems to be quite lush, but not overwhelmingly so. The man standing in the middle, is dressed in the traditional clothing of a merchant, for the time period. In one hand he holds a scale and on the other hand he has 6 coins, 4 of which are being dropped into the palm of the person with the tan cape and bandage on his head, kneeling in front of him. The bandage indicates the person may be dealing with mental illness or a head injury and the tan cape indicate he is focused survival. Two coins remain in the merchants hand, presumably to be given to the person in blue, also crouched down in front of the merchant. The color blue indicates this person is on a spiritual path and may have chosen the life ...

Five of Disks

Image
The five of disks is not a card many like to receive. The picture is not one of the more joyful ones and can come across as very bleak.   We see two people in tattered clothing walking in the snow, one without shoes, the other with crutches and a bell around their neck. Their faces look despondent as they trudge through the cold, clearly feeling neglected and discarded. Behind them is what seems to be a church with stained glass window decorated with a plant that is sprouting 5 pentacles, leaves and two roses at the top. There are also two towers at the very top of the stained glass window, that can be easily missed if one doesn’t look. According to Madam Pamita in Madam Pamita’s Magical Tarot, the bell was a medieval sign of leporacy, so clearly this man is dealing with some illness that has left him an outcast. But the thing we need to take into consideration is the two towers on the window, as they tend to represent an opportunity to transform into a higher version of ourself....
